The Brasil Afro Funk collective brings you Brazilian music concerts, samba, forro, frevo, bossa nova, as well as batucada, Brazilian percussion and dance, capoeira… everything you need for an event made in Brasil.

Workshops & Courses

Discover Brazilian culture through our regular workshops at Barraca Zem, or organize a workshop at your facility… Music, music awareness, singing, dance, capoeira, body awareness, cooking and even theater – there’s something for everyone, young and old alike.

+ more than 4,000 hours of weekly workshops in music, dance, capoeira, early-learning and theater – more than 1,500 hours of off-site workshops.

Cultural Activities

Locally and internationally, the collective is expanding. Come and join our artists in Lille’s neighborhoods for carnivals, block parties and festivals, as well as on an international level, hosting Brazilian artists or artist residencies in Brazil. Brazilian culture shared in all its forms

3 editions of the Festival Forro and 2 editions of the Brasil Fusion Fest – Parade Renaissance lille 3000 ( 3 floats + 500 musicians and 200 dancers) – 13 editions of the Carnaval d’été do Axé – More than 100 participative carnivals with the inhabitants of Lille and its region – Annual Brazilian festivals

Cultural venue

Since 2009, the collective has been based in the little blue house in the Wazemmes district, and it’s with all its Brazilian-style energy that it brings this atypical place to life.

Management of the La Barraca Zem theater since 2009 – More than 20 shows programmed per season – Involvement in the neighborhood with more than 100 events: neighborhood carnivals, Saint Jean, NQE – Artists’ residencies in the region and on our premises.
